"Many people still think you must have been mad to do what you did". Those were the words uttered to me by a former senior colleague that I held in considerably high esteem. My response to THAT "verdict" about my mental state of health, ostensibly passed by some of my former colleagues was along the lines of "My only regret is that I did not do it sooner!" - and I meant it. In this article, I reveal the TRUE fear-fueled motives that some salary earners(and their employers) have for readily casting aspersion on a member who chooses to switch from paid to self-employment despite offers of career advancement. Some of the assertions I make in this article WILL upset persons in paid employment, but that will not change the fact that they are ACCURATE representations of what happens in our society today! I of course am first to admit that NOT all salary earners are guilty of the practices I refer to. My purpose here is to help the interested reader understand that - notwithstanding startup pains - self-employment can be a prestigious and fulfilling alternative to the daily rat race in paid employment. Four weeks ago, I said I would be sharing some stories with you about how having "Blind Faith" and "Refusing to Recognize Failure" has helped me progress in my work despite many mistakes, and devastating setbacks. Well, the result of what I called my VERY unconventional marketing methods, is that I recently have been less opportuned to sit behind my own PC to do stuff related to this website. Good part however is that I have something to show for it. :-)) Let's start with this: I can now announce formally that I have successfully created a lucrative niched market for myself out here in Nigeria for myself as a developer of cost-effective, long term Custom Automated Excel-VB driven software solutions for individuals and businesses. Five years ago, I left a company in which I was a "champion" at developing spreadsheet solutions to solve business data recording, analysis and report generation problems, to do it for a living. Many that I met along the way told me I made a mistake - and that I could not sell it. Typically, they would say: "Isn't it just Microsoft Excel? Or has Bill Gates done something new to it? What can you possibly do with it that could be worth paying THAT much for?". Well going by the kind of payments my most recent clients(a hotel, and an Anglican church) have made to me, at least some people have realised that they need to OPEN their eyes and minds to SEE what I CAN do for them instead of jumping to conclusions without access to the necessary information! New Programs/Video Tutorials! I will soon be uploading video tutorials and new demos of the Hotel Records Management System(HRMS)™, and Church Records/Accounts Management program, I just completed. Everyone on my mailing list will be sent download links to view the video tutorials/program demos. As a result of client requests for improved performance, my techniques have improved greatly, with the quality of programs much higher. Let me know what you think when you get them. WATCH VIDEO!!
