Our LOL Pix-Humour entry for this month shows
Nigeria's masked musician - Lagbaja -
blowing on his Sax while performing at Sea Gardens, GRA Ikeja Lagos,
on Saturday 7th October 1995(approx. 12 years ago!).
I was at that event and we (myself and three
other Guinness Nigeria Graduate Management Trainee colleagues at the
time) had chosen to attend it as a way of celebrating our first year
in the company.
Lagbaja was still fairly new on the scene at
that time, and I recall it was in a publication by the French
Cultural Center that I first "discovered" him and learnt about the
planned performance.
I still have prints/negatives of two pictures I
took of him, with my Olympus Stylus camera from different angles, as
he stood near our table. For those who have been to the Motherlan'
amphitheatre he owns today, you must know that the general rule is
"NO cameras or recorders".
My pictures are NOT
